Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Summit Resume (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us: when you book a call, submit the contact or newsletter form, or purchase a service, we collect details such as your name, email address, and the information you choose to share about your career — for example your work history, resume, LinkedIn profile, target roles, compensation, and goals. When you buy a service, our payment provider also collects the payment details needed to process your purchase.
Information collected automatically: like most websites, we and our providers collect basic technical and usage data such as your browser type, device, approximate location, pages visited, and referring site, through cookies and similar technologies and standard server logs.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve the Services, schedule and deliver coaching, prepare your deliverables, respond to your inquiries, process payments, send the newsletter and resources you request, operate and secure the website, and comply with our legal obligations. We may also use it to send you service-related messages and, where permitted, occasional updates you can opt out of at any time.
3. Career information is sensitive — and we treat it that way
The career details you share with us (such as your resume and compensation) can be sensitive. We use that information only to deliver the Services you have requested and to communicate with you, we keep it confidential, and we do not sell it. See the Terms of Service for our confidentiality commitment.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to measure traffic in aggregate.
5. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate, and only so they can perform services on our behalf. These typically include our website host and content platform, our scheduling tool, our form and email delivery providers, our analytics provider, and our payment processor (for example, providers such as Vercel, Sanity, Calendly, a form/email service, and a payment processor).
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our legal rights, and, if Summit Resume is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, as part of that transaction (subject to this Policy).
6. Third-party websites
Our site may link to third-party websites and services (such as scheduling, payment, or social platforms). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing information to them.
7. Data retention
We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
8. How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect your information, and we limit access to those who need it to do their work. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us at your own risk.
9. International data transfers
We and our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. Where information is transferred across borders, we take steps intended to ensure it remains protected consistent with this Policy and applicable law, including using appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link. To make a request, contact us using the details below; we will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.
11. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — and we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, we confirm we do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
12. EU/UK privacy rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on legal bases that include performing our contract with you, your consent (for example, for marketing emails), and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services. You have the right to access, correct, delete, port, and restrict or object to certain processing of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
13. Children's privacy
Our Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and if we learn we have, we will delete it.
14. Marketing and email
If you sign up for our newsletter or resources, we will send you the content you requested and related tips. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we will stop sending marketing messages.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page, and your continued use of the Services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Policy.
16. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, or wish to exercise any of your privacy rights, please reach out through our contact page and we will be glad to help.
